Skyblivion is a volunteer-based project by the TESRenewal modding group. We aim to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long time fans of the series. We are currently in the process of porting and rebuilding Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition.
Upon release, our mod will be completely modular which means that the player will be able to choose what components he/she wants to have installed. This includes all enhancements developed by the team such as our Landscaping Overhaul, Interior Overhaul, City Overhaul, Weapon/Armor Overhaul and much more.
SKYBLIVION will be 100% FREE, but in order to play, we require our users to own both Skyrim and Oblivion including the DLC here. Without these requirements our installer will not install the mod.
The development of SKYBLIVION officially started in 2012, when our lead developer Zilav created what we now call version 0.1. This was a great tech demo but nothing more, the world was very buggy and was missing a lot of content. Not much later, Ormin (now known as Monocleus) joined the project after seeing what Zilav had done, and started working on the more technical aspects of the mod. In 2014, Zilav and Monocleus managed to provide a stable base game for others to work with and help with the development. Around this time Rebelzize joined the project handling the PR, this was when the development and general interest about the project started to drastically increase.
More devs joined which resulted in the 0.3 DEV release which included new flora by 3AMt, FaceGen and a lot of fixes that made working on the mod a lot easier. In the month of November 2016, Rebelzize started to send out invites on “Nexusmods” in the hope of more volunteers. More people joined and not much later the ‘’Skyblivion – Return To Cyrodiil’’ trailer was published (with well over 1.100.000 views currently) resulting into an influx of new volunteers.
These new volunteers along with the core staff are currently developing the mod and making progress on a daily basis.

Skyblivion is a fan made recreation of the 4th Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion, in the Skyrim engine. Our goal is to bring give the Elder Scrolls community a free remaster of Oblivion that includes all weapons, armors, quests, locations and NPC’s. All of this free of charge.
The mod will include all big and small DLC that have been released for Oblivion. Additionally i twill include custom content curtesy of the Skyblivion DEV team.
Currently there is no solid release date. With a community project such as this, progress often comes at an irregular rate and is hard to predict. Currently we have been experiencing a steady level of activity in several key sectors that has benefited the project immensely. When we have a release date in mind we will undoubtedly notify our fans via our various social media pages.
In order to play Skyblivion you will need to own a legitimate copy of Oblivion. Our installer will not install the mod unless it can find a non-cracked copy of the original game.
Yes, all development and updates shown by the DEVS are on the original Skyrim but as soon as development wraps up we will port all our progress to the Special Edition and make sure to utilize all the added benefits in order to bring everyone a polished and epic experience.
No. We can’t make it fit on consoles due to the overall size. Also there’s no SKSE on consoles, which we need in order to bring everyone the best possible experience.

Lockpicking could possibly be changed but it’s not a priority at the moment. Combat will be the same except the addition of underwater combat.
Yes, all creature models will be recreated. Most creatures you have seen on streams are simple placeholders.
We are trying our best to bring this feature back but its proven to be harder than expected.
It’s a big part of Oblivions core mechanic so we will most certainly try to add this in a proper way.
Skyblivion will work as most other mods you have downloaded on the Nexus, Steam Workshop or Bethesda Mods. Simply install the mod, launch Skyrim and create a new character.
Yes. Oblivion has been translated into many languages over the years and since we are not re-writing the entire game and all its quests these translations will work just fine with our mod.
Yes, but for immersion reasons we urge people to create new characters and enjoy Skyblivion the way it was meant to be played.
Because we aim to make a worthy remaster our models will be higher quality than those in vanilla Skyrim and our textures are up to 4K in resolution. Performance is still very important to us so we will try our best to optimize the mod to the best of our abilities. If you can run Skyrim on medium settings you should be able to run Skyblivion just fine.
Yes, all quests from Oblivion will be included in the mod. (you might even find a few new ones)
Yes, we are restoring content cut from the original game. Additionally we are also going to be adding content that can be found in Tamriels expansive lore. A good example would be the lost city of Sutch which was located between Anvil and Kvatch. Good news, ITS BACK BABY!
